Carrey d'Asnières, Captain of the Vessel. It is ordered to Mr. Carrey d'Asnières (Armand Nicolas Charles) Captain of the Vessel, to go to the port of Cherbourg to be employed there in his rank in accordance with the provisions of articles 5 and 9 of the Ordinance of November 29, 1815. His Majesty wishes him to be included, in this capacity, in the review lists of the Officers of the Navy of the said port of Cherbourg. This service letter will be registered with the general majority and under the control of the Navy of the said port.

Registered with the majority of the port, December 31, 1815. Document on two pages, in folio (41.5 x 27 cm closed, 41.5 x 54 cm open), on watermarked laid paper, very beautiful watermark with a crowned lion armed with a sword. (paper J KOOL & COMP). Double stamp with Royal Arms, signature of Louis XVIII and countersignature of his Minister Du Bouchage. Minimal vertical tear at the top for 3 mm, no foxing, document folded in 4 originally, only the horizontal fold remains. Rare period signed service letter.
