Letter addressed to the Viceroy and Captain General of the Kingdom of Naples, Juan de Zúñiga y Requeséns. Some ink oxidations and some holes.

Interesting signed letter from Philip II regarding the Kingdom of Naples, which was part of the Crown of Aragon since its conquest in 1442 by Alphonse V and transformed into a viceroyalty under the Catholic monarchs. It was managed from Spain by the same Council known as the Council of Italy, with the Spanish monarchy recognizing their geographical, strategic, and cultural proximity. The Kingdom of Naples, considered more as a rear base, was heavily relied upon as a financial reserve, with an increasing importance of financial contributions imposed by Spain on the kingdom. This letter provides a beautiful illustration of this situation.] Hiernonimo Principe primo nuestro Vissorrey lugarteniente y Capitan general.
