On the Hierarchy of Cuckoldry by Charles Fourier. Here is a very curious clarification. And here is a very funny work by Charles Fourier, it is like a sort of strained smile of a numbered man.

I sincerely thank you for sending it and congratulate you on the care given to the book, to the text: it is a quality. I am amazed by the quantity of observed genres and how clearly and irrevocably they are depicted. Antoine Bourdelle reacts to the sending by Charles Maublanc of his "definitive edition collected from the original manuscript" of Charles Fourier's work "On the Hierarchy of Cuckoldry" (Paris, Éditions du Siècle, 1924). He mentions "the numbered man" because Fourier hierarchizes situations into classes, genres, and species in a squared doubling by 1.

René Maublanc was an admirer of the sculptor, and wrote several times about the artist.
