Victor Hugo Autographed Letter Signed Foucher Zimmerman 1832
Large folio page (35 x 22 cm). Pierre Zimmerman was a pianist and composer known for his teaching and pedagogical gifts. It is noteworthy that after Léopoldine, Adèle Hugo, born in 1930, would develop a true talent as a pianist and composer. She mentions the Zimmerman couple in her journal. Victor Hugo mentions the address of his in-laws, 39 rue du Cherche-Midi. It is at this address that Hugo gave the reading of Cromwell. We appreciate the very large format of this letter, 35 x 22 cm, written at the time of the publication of Notre-Dame de Paris. A thousand regrets for not being able to meet you, my dear friend. I came to discuss our project from last night with you.
My father-in-law, who has some of his music to submit to you, intends to come see you on Thursday, June 7, around nine o'clock in the morning. If you are still in the midst of moving, or if you cannot receive him that day, you would be so kind as to let him know with a couple of lines in the mail. My respects to Madame Zimmerman.
