
Perpignan, June 27 and July 9, 1838. (Drafts of other letters on the back of the two letters.) Two autograph letters signed by Count de Castellane, stationed in Perpignan, to another commander in the region, in which he informs him of the situation in Spain during the height of the Carlist War. In particular, he announces the arrival of the anti-Carlist general Baldomero Espartero in Vitoria.
Drafts of other letters on the back of the two letters. Marshal of France, he took part in the Russian campaign and served in the Sacred Squadron assigned to the Emperor’s personal protection. Later sent to Barcelona and Cádiz, he took part in the conquest of Algeria before settling in Perpignan.
