He responds to a request to write articles for a magazine. "Weary and overwhelmed with work. [he] is waiting for the proofs of his preface from Lemerre.

" He will try to participate in a survey that interests him "in the Review" on "the definition of verse." A poet and the first Nobel Prize winner in literature (1901), he is classified among the Parnassian poets. He often resided at the Château d'Ollans, Doubs.
