You know that I abhor articles of complacency, but one must be known in these days, and I am much more grateful to you for all the trouble you are willing to take for me." A letter dated March 9, 1827, addressed to Mr. Sutton Sharpe indicates that Stendhal lived at 6 rue Le Peletier (which he wrote as some did at the time, Lepelletier). He stayed there for a few months.
