RIVOIRE André SIGNED AUTOGRAPH LETTER, ECHO OF PARIS, WAR

  

A two-page letter addressed to a friend and colleague regarding a play by Henry Bataille (possibly the play L'Amazone from 1916) whose general rehearsal might be moved. There is mention of Henry Simond, a journalist, whom he has just left. He also notes that the war would disrupt their organization and business (particularly concerning the aforementioned play). André Rivoire, born in Vienne on May 5, 1872, and died in Paris on August 19, 1930, was a French poet and playwright.

Henry Simond was a French journalist born on September 19, 1863, in Saint-Georges-de-Reneins and died on July 24, 1937, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. Henry Bataille was a playwright, poet, and lithographer born in Nîmes on April 4, 1872, and died on March 2, 1922, in Rueil-Malmaison at his property, the Vieux Phare.
