Puccini giacomo - original signed autograph letter to a commissioner. Unpublished signed autograph letter to a commissioner. Boscolungo August 29, 1903, 11,2x18cm, 2 pages on 2 sheets. Unpublished signed autograph letter from giacomo puccini addressed to a commissioner; two pages written in black ink on two white sheets.

Sheets uniformly shaded, traces of tabs on the back. A photographic reproduction of the famous composer's portrait is attached.

Puccini responds to the request of a commissioner wishing to have the bohemian interpreted during a charitable event: io non ho niente in contrario che la bohème venga eseguita per una sera corta a scopo benefitico. I don't mind if the bohemian is interpreted for a charity party. Credo pero che sarebbe bene avere anche la adesione della casa ricordi proprietaria dello sparto. I believe, however, that it would be good to have the permission of the casa ricordi [puccini publishing house] owner of the score. Despite the failure of the first performance on 1 Feb. 1896, the work was later successful worldwide, raising it to the rank of best romantic opera. Beautiful testimony of the triumph of one of the greatest composers of the late 19th century.
