An autographed letter signed by the renowned printer, Pierre Didot, addressed to General Dupont, dated September 29, 1838, in Paris, written in black ink on a double sheet of vergé paper, with the letterhead "Firmin Didot Frères." Sir, I am sending you 2 copies of your work on the art of war; please take care not to open them too much today for fear that they might come apart.

I am sending them to you before they dry, given the insistence that Mr. [Bax] made to me yesterday. I will wait for you to give me a binding approval before the other copies are bound. I extend my warmest regards. Dimensions: 12.9 x 20.1 cm.

Included is an autographed letter signed by a certain Volnais (unidentified) addressed to Firmin Didot, regarding a new prose translation project of Anacreon and fragments of Sappho, with an autographed note from Firmin Didot: Responded on August 21 that I could not print it at my expense and provided the price for the sheet in 8... Dimensions: 17.6 x 22 cm. Number of pages: 3 pages. Known as "Didot l'aîné," born on January 23, 1761, in Paris and died on December 31, 1853, in the same city, he was a French printer. Born on April 14, 1764, in Paris and died on April 24, 1836, in Mesnil-sur-l'Estrée, he was a printer, publisher, typeface creator, and French politician.
