Pierre Joseph François Bosquet was born on November 8, 1810, in Mont-de-Marsan. He died in Pau on February 3, 1861.

He served as a Marshal of France. Bosquet distinguished himself during the conquest of Algeria. He commanded an army corps during the Crimean War. He was appointed senator after his return from Crimea.

Bosquet’s 1855 letter, written in the middle of the Crimean War, mentions Esterhazy (father) and General Larchey.
