At Headquarters, July 5, 1855.

My dear General,

I have the honor to inform you that the Commander-in-Chief has authorized, at my request, the replacement in the elite company he commanded of Captain Bouet of the 91st Line, who deceived the good faith of the medical officer at the ambulance by claiming to have requested his retirement, in order to obtain a prompt evacuation.

The Commander-in-Chief has furthermore asked the Minister of War to kindly order that he be placed on inactive status by removal from duty until the settlement of his retirement pension, the processing of which must be expedited.

Please ensure the execution of the first of these measures.

Yours sincerely,
The General Commanding the 2nd Corps"
