Postcard with address on the back on purple paper. Size: 13 x 18 cm with frame (included) / 9 x 14 cm postcard only. Verlaine arranged a meeting in his apartment at the furnished hotel of the impasse Royer Collard in the Val-de-Grâce district. He moved in on March 20, 1888, after spending 6 months at the Broussais Hospital, on the same day that the collection "Amour" was published by the publisher Vanier. Verlaine would hold literary "Wednesdays" there for a few weeks.

I will be at home (14 r Royer Collard) from 1 to 2 in the afternoon (tomorrow, Friday) and will receive you with the greatest pleasure. Below is a drawing signed by Verlaine published in La Plume in 1896 and titled An Evening at Paul Verlaine's in the furnished hotel of the impasse Royer-Collard.
