Autographed letter signed by Napoleon-Jérôme Bonaparte, addressed to his sister, Princess Mathilde, dated Friday, May 27 [1859] (year added in pencil). Written in black ink on a double sheet of vergé paper with embossed monogram. He wishes her a happy birthday, reminisces about their childhood memories, and discusses his current responsibilities. "Our young years that we spent together, everything has changed, I spend my days and nights caring for the landing and the mobilization of my troops...

Mathilde Létizia Wilhelmine Bonaparte, better known as Princess Mathilde, born May 27, 1820, in Trieste and died January 2, 1904, in Paris, was a representative of the Bonaparte family.
