Signed autograph letter from Michel de Chamillart, addressed to the Prosecutor of Bautot, written in ink on a double sheet of watermarked laid paper, on August 23, 1698, in Paris. Michel de Chamillart, renowned minister of Louis XIV, controller of finances, and later Secretary of War, wished for a settlement in an unpleasant matter involving one of his close relatives, Grand Provost of Normandy.
