Max jacob welcomes the analysis of his latest work by marcel thiébaut, director of calmann-levy publishing. You are not the descendant of this general thiébaut who under Napoleon 1 wrote his adventures in spain with so much talent. Max jacob made, at the beginning of the letter, alluding to a possible acceptance of his part to be published in the calmann-levy editions, and of which marcel thiébaut was then the director. However, this proposal will remain unanswered, as max jacob has been under contract with gallimard since 1923.
