I was particularly captivated by the excellent introduction and especially by the correspondence, where d'Annunzio's sensitivity is perhaps even more endearing than in his novels.

I would be happy to see you again soon and I send you, along with my respectful regards to Mrs. Membré, my feelings of great sympathy for yourself along with many thanks.
