Co-written on the 4th leaflet with Achille Vauvelle. "You will see that I will be heroic as well." Long letter from Louise Michel (completed by Achille Vauvelle) about poetry and English and French literature.

Louise Michel promises to send Roy his copy of a poetry treatise, with a few added sheets "to prove that the measures banned from the treatise are as beautiful as those that are accepted" and gives some examples of what can be supported in the number of versified feet. Then she answers several questions from Roy, about Mrs. Bras, whom she mentions in her Memoirs, about her aunt, then gives her opinion on various methods for learning English, the best being "the one that most enters the life of the one who studies", citing those of Theodore Robertson, Sanderson or François Gouin, and then explaining her own teaching method for English speakers: So we take a somewhat exciting work for the moment last year we had Tolstoy's Resurrection and Zola's Fruitfulness translated into English on which we read in French.

This year we proceed by dozens of lessons. We take the twelve chapters of Tolstoy's Ivan the Fool which we translate in the same way by adding a brief summary out loud in French about the reading or a judgment on the work.

She sometimes translates word for word, especially poems, also relying on works translated into English, such as Zola's Work, or on readings in French, such as Balzac's Father Goriot. She specifies that she plans to publish her method in England, after giving news of the Russian revolutionary Goworouchine, also known as Gregorieff: No, poor Gregorieff is not lifted out of misery. The announcement of his Russian lessons is placed every two or three days in the Intransigent but he has no luck. Achille Vauvelle completes this letter, thanking Alexandre Roy for sending a book on color photography, expressing doubts about the use of colors that only exist through contrast: I fear bright colors and the lack of harmony in the final result.
