Signed autograph letter "Leonor Fini" [to Gérard Leman] S. "January 29" [19]68, 1 p. Traces of folding on the upper margin. Lovely letter from the artist, adorned with a beautiful color print, regarding two books dedicated to her.

"Sir, there is a book about me published by Pauvert editor, with text by Brion and several reproductions [of drawings] - some in color. You can order it in any bookstore. In October, a major monograph about me will be released by [the publishing house] La Guilde du livre - in Switzerland. I wish you a Happy New Year [19]68.

" The artist refers here to two books about her. The first one is "Leonor Fini and her work" by Jean-Jacques Pauvert, ed. Marcel Brion, published in 1962. The second one is "Leonor Fini" by La Guilde du livre, ed.

Constantin Jelenski, published in 1968 as indicated in the letter. As an important figure of surrealism, Leonor Fini was a very prolific artist in the fields of painting, engraving, lithography, theater decoration, and writing. Many poets, writers, painters, and critics dedicated monographs, essays, exhibition prefaces, or poems to her.
