An autographed letter signed by Antoine-Louis Lefebvre de Caumartin, addressed to the Minister of Finance, dated the 2nd complementary day of Year IV (September 18, 1796), regarding the reimbursement of a claim that he wishes to make in mandate and not in metallic currency. With cardboard sheet: 22.5 x 30.5 cm; Letter alone: 19.8 x 29.7 cm. The letter is taped onto a cardboard sheet with a biography written on the back by a former collector. Number of pages: 1 page. Antoine-Louis Lefebvre de Caumartin is a prominent figure of the Ancien Régime. Marquis of Saint-Ange, Count of Moret, and Lord of Caumartin, he served as the intendant of the Three Bishoprics and the provinces of Flanders and Artois, before becoming the provost of merchants of Paris from 1778 to 1784.
