The Autographes des Siècles bookstore has been specializing in the sale of autograph letters and manuscripts for many years. Autographed letter signed to Albert Laprade. "Regarding myself personally, I am willing to admit the praises. Very beautiful letter from Le Corbusier defending with a vigor tinged with arrogance the high principles of Architecture. Laprade, Your student Gaubert came to submit to me the text of the brochure he plans to publish on architecture.

I took the trouble to read it completely and I told him that I very well admit the principle of stating the difficult technical things that we deal with in a youthful way, "young man", capable perhaps of making the elders understand the youth's commitment and enthusiasm to the construction of a new world. I made very precise observations, even solemn ones, about the lightness with which (apart from his youthful presentation) he addresses the reality of the problems themselves: fundamental error in urban planning, frivolity of his analyses of constructive systems practiced by colleagues of great value, etc. Hermant from Architecture d'Aujourd'hui, to whom Gaubert proposed his manuscript, came to see me and expressed his concern about seeing such serious questions presented so lightly to the public. I could see that Gaubert had contented himself in his manuscript with minimal revisions, thus proving his absolute lack of scruples, his unconsciousness in reality. Gaubert plans to make a springboard out of the work of others. Regarding myself personally, I am willing to admit the praises (it's a change from the scoldings) but let them simply be the consequence of a presentation made seriously and scrupulously. Gaubert seems to me to singularly lack modesty and scruples. His work will not be useful to the cause, but harmful, in the state of inaccuracies in which he allows it to remain. As he refers to your great friendship, and since my advice has fallen on deaf ears, and in the end, I judge his kindness towards me as dangerous, I thought of asking you to advise him to reflect again and to realize that his responsibilities are not only towards himself, but also towards the loyal and hard-working effort of all those so many who have given the best of themselves to architecture for the past 40 years. I am certain that you will understand me and I beg you to believe, dear Mr.
