Autograph letter signed by Julien Green. Written in blue ink on a thin laid paper sheet. A letter of literary interest, very likely addressed to Thierry Maulnier, in which Julien Green agrees to provide about ten pages from his Journal for the magazine La Table Ronde, during the postwar period of his work.

He asks that the payment terms be aligned with those granted to François Mauriac and proposes sending his text in the following days for publication in the March issue.

“Dear Sir,

Thank you for your kind letter, and I shall be happy to give you about ten pages from my journal for La Table Ronde. As for the terms, I would ask you to give me what you give, for example, to François Mauriac. If we agree on this point, I will send you my text within the next two or three days, so that you can include it in the March issue. Please accept, dear Sir, my most cordial sentiments.”

An interesting letter for the publishing history of Julien Green’s Journal and for the relations between the author and the La Table Ronde team in the aftermath of the war.

Dimensions: 18.5 x 26.6 cm. Condition: See photos and description for more details.

Number of pages: 1 page.
