
Jules Truffier - Collection of unpublished pieces, letters, poems, signed programs. On the occasion of the actor's retirement after 38 years of service at the Théâtre Français - 1914.
In-8° 15.5 x 23.5 cm. Half red morocco binding with corners under a box, signed Léon Gruel. Scratches and wear on the covers. Two ex-libris on the inside cover and the endpaper in color, the first from the Pasteur family (Providence preserves us) and the second from Jules Truffier, engraved after Renault. Collection composed by the bibliophile Pasteur, gathering a signed photo; a letter signed by the actor on letterhead from the Comédie Française to Pasteur, thanking him and explaining the content of his speech - in verse - for the ceremony; another letter, signed by his wife, presenting unpublished verses from her husband, which follow on another signed sheet; a colored lithograph by Antonin-Marie Chatinière depicting the actor as Rosemberg in Barberine, signed; programs, one signed, from the Retirement Performance given on February 28, 1914; a newspaper clipping of an article on the evening of Adolphe Brisson extracted from Le Temps on March 2, 1914.
