Autographed letter signed, Brussels, January 19, 1893, 1 page in-8. "My dear director and friend. I have been in Brussels for 2 days for the general rehearsal of Werther at La Monnaie. I want to express my grateful feelings for the beautiful execution of 'Cid' and I ask you to excuse me, as well as Mr. Campo Caffo and all your remarkable performers, if I am still far away on Friday!" Letter written three days after the premiere of the opera Werther, which took place at the Opéra-Comique in Paris on January 16, 1893. Carefully packaged, sent by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt.
