Addressed to Odette LAZAR-VERNET, editor of the artists’ book collection Paroles Peintes. The poet thanks her for sending him a copy, on Japanese paper, of The Wind Among the Reeds by William Butler Yeats, translated by André Pieyre de Mandiargues, illustrated with two engravings by Miró, and published in 1971 by Odette Lazar-Vernet. He also thanks the painter Philippe Lepatre, Odette Lazar-Vernet’s husband, for sending him one of his prints. I hope that Calder, and Miró, and others will take an interest in this technique and learn it, for it is rich in new possibilities.
