Signed autograph letter from Henri Schneider, industrialist and politician, director of the Forges du Creusot, dated August 9, 1878, written in brown ink on a double sheet of vergé paper with an 8 mm mourning border. Recently returned from a trip to Hainaut and Liège, Schneider thanks his correspondent for sending him three issues of the Officiel.
He indicates that he has already reviewed them and appreciates the efforts made for clarification, while pointing out several points that need correcting. He announces that he has enclosed the annotated issues in an envelope, accompanied by his correction proposals (incorrect figures, wrong names). He emphasizes the importance of eliminating these inaccuracies. In case his shipment is not received, he offers to send a duplicate. This letter illustrates the seriousness and attention to detail of Henri Schneider in managing official documents likely related to mining or industrial operations, a field in which he played a major role.
