Signed autograph letter, [paris], October 17, 1890, 2 pages. Beautiful letter about the photographs of the panorama of the century drawn by the famous small stone photographer for the artist's collection.
The panorama of the century was commissioned by the painters Henri Gervex and Alfred Stevens for the universal exhibition of 1889. This monumental canvas (120 meters long by 20 meters high) represented 640 characters who embodied the glory of the france over the past 100 years.
The opening was then cut and shared among the various shareholders who financed the project. In particular, we find several fragments, all signed by the two artists, preserved at the small palace, in bets. You want to have the courtesy to write to more about the cliché of the panorama - it seems that it has in the most beautiful hands and as I have just made to draw small stone trials according to those we found in the panorama it can not do otherwise than lend them to p. Little in order to complete my collection. A thousand good memories h gervex.
