Henri Barbusse was a French writer, politician, screenwriter, and journalist, born on May 17, 1873, in Asnières and died on August 30, 1935, in Moscow. He recounts his life at the front during World War I in his novel Le Feu, which won the Prix Goncourt in 1916.
