He published Savage Messiah in 1931, the biography of the sculptor Gaudier-Brzeska. Two signed autograph letters addressed to the writer Maurice SACHS (1906-1945), a member of the reading committee of Éditions Gallimard, regarding a proposed French publication of Savage Messiah by the NRF. On August 30, 1935, 3 pages.

If he deems it sufficiently safe, he can send the original letters from Gaudier by registered mail and can have them translated. He also mentions a letter addressed to Sophie Brzeska's father - he may still be alive - of which he no longer has the original but which could be translated with a note. He fears his reaction: "I greatly fear he will be horrified when he reads the book.

I have written a short introduction which I think would be helpful and also, if you like, a chapter, which would go as an appendix on Miss Brzeska's life in England after Gaudier's death." He concludes with commercial considerations about the sale of books to the NRF. Follow-up letter: he asks if the idea of publishing Savage Messiah is progressing. Ede refers to the previous letter that has not received a response.

He suggests a name for the preface of the edition of Savage Messiah and reiterates his wish to include a new chapter as an appendix. While there was never a translation of Savage Messiah, a film by Ken Russell, released in 1972, was made based on the work.
