Dated "April 29th", located in "Nesle" and signed "Henry". Letter from Henry IV, king of France from 1589 to 1610, addressed to his secretary of State for War and Foreign Affairs, Nicolas IV de Neufville, lord of Villeroy.

Dimensions: half-page in-4 (17.8 x 24.7 cm). Seal with coat of arms under the signature cf. Small paper loss without affecting the text cf.

"Mr de Vylleroy, I am dispatching this letter to ask you to come and see me immediately if your wife is well because I assure you that I am overwhelmed with affairs and I do not seem relieved unless you come, so if you love me and care for my well-being, you should come back as soon as the fair is over, if you wish, I will postpone the rest until I see you adieu Mr de vylleroy this 29th of April in Nesle" signed "Henry". Provenance: Letter purchased in an auction from a major Parisian auction house. The auction expert certified this handwritten letter from Henry IV as authentic. The value of this manuscript is less than 3000 euros. Therefore, it is not considered a cultural asset and can be shipped abroad without an export certificate.
