A page in-12 on a double sheet. Size: 10 x 15 cm (10 x 30 cm unfolded). Header with embossed initials "GM" and address 10 rue Montchanin [Paris] - [Between 1884 and 1889]. A charming little note from Maupassant setting up a meeting for the upcoming new year. Written between 1884 and 1889, during the time of his masterpieces Bel Ami (1885), Le Horla (1886), Pierre et Jean (1887), Fort comme la mort (1889).

Rue Montchanin is currently rue Jacques-Bingen in the 17th arrondissement (since 1946). I am not free on December 31. But I look forward to seeing you for lunch on January 2 at noon.
