Fz85-General Maurice Gamelin Signed Autograph Letter - 1955 Politics
GENERAL MAURICE GAMELIN SIGNED AUTOGRAPH LETTER 1955 POLITICS ENVELOPE. Signed autograph letter from General Maurice Gamelin, dated April 1, 1955, addressed to Charles-Henry, with its original stamped and postmarked envelope, postmarked in Paris on April 2, 1955. A particularly interesting piece of correspondence in which Gamelin says he is sending notes and his own drafts, as his secretary is absent. He explains that he made many corrections in order to be as accurate as possible and insists that he does not want these texts to be regarded as an article or an interview by him. He refers in particular to his wish to no longer engage in politics.
The letter continues with a few personal lines and ends with the autograph signature of General Maurice Gamelin. An interesting document for the history of postwar French political and military affairs, accompanied by its addressed envelope. Fold marks, small marks, creases, and normal wear. Envelope preserved with stamp and postmark.
