Autograph letter signed “Nicole,” dated February 6, 1952, and addressed to Trystan. A long, highly personal letter in which Nicole first gives news of Gérard, who has just seen his doctor. She mentions his condition, the medical advice he received, and the consequences for various travel plans, including trips to warmer regions. The letter then takes on a particularly affectionate and confidential tone. Nicole responds to a previous letter from Trystan, in which she clearly sensed his sadness and loneliness.

She confides how at times she feels “powerless” to help him, while trying to support him and show her friendship. She also discusses various projects and trips, mentions Paris, several appointments and people in their circle, as well as matters of family and professional organization.
