Autograph letter signed by Félix Baciocchi, First Chamberlain to Emperor Napoleon III from 1853, then Superintendent of the Court Spectacles and Senator of the Empire. Written in brown ink on a laid paper sheet, with no printed letterhead.

In this letter addressed to an unidentified recipient, Félix Baciocchi explains that he has no vacant position to offer to a third party, but undertakes to help arrange the audience his correspondent wishes to obtain with the Emperor, through a man named Félix, who is to be with His Majesty in Compiègne.

He mentions a relationship of trust between this man and the recipient’s father.

Nephew of the first Félix Baciocchi (husband of Élisa Bonaparte), he was entrusted in 1852 by Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte with diplomatic missions in Greece, Egypt, and Turkey, before becoming First Chamberlain to Napoleon III in 1853.
