Signed autograph letter, Paris, 1860. Although I do not have the honor of knowing you personally, I take the liberty of recommending in a particular way Ni Fuistienne, the bearer of this letter. Ni Fuistienne worked for several years in my laboratory and not only did he always behave perfectly there, but he also showed great activity and aptitude for chemical work.

I have always regretted that he did not pursue a career in scientific research since leaving my laboratory... Michel-Eugène Chevreul, born in 1786 in Angers and died in 1889 in Paris, is a French chemist known for his work on fatty acids, saponification, and the discovery of stearin. His work earned him the Copley Medal in 1857.
