Autograph letter signed by Ernest Baroche, son of Minister Jules Baroche, master of requests at the Council of State, deputy of the Legislative Corps, heroically killed at Le Bourget on October 30, 1870, at the head of the Seine Mobile Guard.

Written in brown ink on a laid paper sheet with watermark, with mourning border. In this letter, Ernest Baroche informs his correspondent that an imperial pardon has just been granted by Napoleon III in favor of a third party, while recommending that caution be advised for the future; direct testimony to his role as a privileged intermediary with imperial power in matters of clemency.
