Autographed letter signed, for an article to be published titled "The Duel," sent to the director of Le Figaro. Three-quarters of a page in octavo format, dated April 9, 1910. A double-sided business card addressed to Le Figaro, a press article (Le Gaulois 8/8/1900) titled "A Page of History, General Zurlinden and the Picquart Affair," and two reproductions of engraved portraits for newspapers. Émile Auguste François Zurlinden (Colmar, 1837 - Paris, 1929), a general, was the military governor of Paris.

He was also a politician, having served as Minister of Defense in 1895. Witness to the intense tensions of this era, the popularity of dueling, whether with a sword or a pistol, sometimes results in the death of one of the duelists. Paris, Academic Publishing House Perrin and Co. A paperback volume in octavo format.

Portrait as frontispiece, 299 uncut pages. One of 10 copies on Holland van Gelder paper, numbered, the only large paper edition.
