She is also the wife of the poet Alphonse de Lamartine. Alphonse de Lamartine, whose full name is Alphonse Marie Louis de Prat de Lamartine, was born on October 21, 1790 in Mâcon and died on February 28, 1869 in Paris. He was a French poet, novelist, playwright, and historian.
