Becquerel was at the time occupied with a chair of applied physics at the Museum of Natural History. We owe him a manual entitled The Principle of Relativity and the Theory of Gravitation (Gauthier-Villars, 1922), which makes him one of the first introducers of Einstein's theory in the French context.
