Autograph letter signed "edmond de goncourt" to a lady saint gratien, 21 7bre [September] [18]90, 2 p. In-8 on bifeuillet traces of folds and wettings. Goncourt gives news about his entourage and his literary circle. Until his death in 1870, jules was the main author of the newspaper, followed by edmond, who remained alone. Subtitled memoirs of literary life, it consists of a set of notes, usually brief, taken on a day-to-day basis. A close friend of alphonse daudet (and of the naturalist circle), the two writers frequent themselves very regularly throughout their lives. On 16 July 1896 he died at the house of daudet à draveil.
