She was the collaborator and wife of Edgar Quinet. Léon Laurent-Pichat, born on July 11, 1823, in Paris and died on June 12, 1886, in the same city, was a French politician, poet, and man of letters, known mainly for the role he played in publishing the first edition of Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert in 1857.
