French poet, playwright, and novelist. Addressed to Jules Lemaître, s. ("Wednesday"), 1 page in-12 on mourning paper, back of the second sheet slightly damaged. "Yes, I will come on Friday, with great pleasure. I was happy, just now, to see our friend Lemaître completely recovered. Poet of the everyday, François Coppée was one of the most famous members of the Parnassus. He was elected to the French Academy in 1884.
