CLAUDEL (Paul). Autograph letter signed addressed to Henri Druart. 1935

Autographed letter signed addressed to Henri Druart. 1 and a half pages in-8, on the printed letterhead of "Château de Brangues" (Isère), dated "August 24, 35", with the envelope preserved. "As you know, this is the house of my parents, built by my uncle the abbot, and not the one where I was born which is currently serving as a presbytery." He then explains the origin of the name Violaine: There is no S. Violaine is the name of a village in the Soissonnais that I found on the map (like Coeuvre which is also used). But there is a blessed martyr named Viola (Pannonian, I believe, in Dalmatia). The name Violaine can be linked to it just as Mariette or Marion can be linked to Mary.
At least several priests have judged it this way, particularly for my granddaughter who bears this name and whom we are to finish baptizing next month. LETTERS AND AUTOGRAPHED MANUSCRIPTS; CLAUDEL (Paul).
