Important handwritten letter signed by Charles Derennes, dated Paris, July 12, 1910, written on a letter card with its postal section preserved. Derennes describes several of his literary projects at length to his correspondent. In particular, he writes that two of the five cantos of Perséphone are nearly complete and states his intention to publish the first under the title Les Amantes. He also mentions the novel La Chasse du Clair de Lune, a collection of stories entitled Les Petites Dames, and other writing projects.
The postal section is addressed to the Courrier littéraire of Paris-Journal, 50 rue Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, and retains its stamp and postmark. He was awarded the Prix Femina in 1924 for Émile et les autres.Numerous handwritten corrections and deletions are of particular interest for the study of his writing process.
