Located in the small and old Héron street, a stone's throw from the Loire, it was also called the Héron Brewery. The brand received numerous awards in competitions, exhibited at fairs and exhibitions, organized tastings, and was known and recognized throughout the region. At the beginning of the 20th century, the 50 workers of the Orléans breweries Gavot and Schmetz produced about 20,000 liters of beer per year. The company closed its doors in 1951.

Louis Pasteur, born on December 27, 1822, in Dole and died on September 28, 1895, in Marnes-la-Coquette, was a French scientist, trained as a chemist and physicist. A pioneer in microbiology, he gained great fame for developing a vaccine against rabies.
