A French journalist and politician, ROCHEFORT was deported to Nouméa (New Caledonia) in 1873, with Louise Michel, and escaped the following year. A supporter of Boulanger, he was sentenced a second time to deportation in 1889, in absentia, having followed General Boulanger into exile. An original photograph is included (140 x 102), a portrait of H. Rochefort, with a signed note underneath "to you, Henri Rochefort", both mounted on sturdy cardboard (220 x 130) with a lower corner. Also included is a business card "Henri de Rochefort". Numerous signed autograph letters from personalities of the 18th to the 20th century are currently being offered.
