Autographed handwritten letter signed by Emile Deschamps - 1846. 1 double sheet In8 dated May 6, 1846 - Autographed letter of 4 pages to Baron Taylor. Excerpt: Dear and very honorable friend, I quickly obeyed you by composing and sending to Lyon two long speeches on Molière and Louis XIV (excuse the little). All of this has reached Monsieur Duval Le Camus, and I have not heard anything about it.

I have some reasons to believe that things did not go very well, but I was doing... In any case, the Revue de Paris and a few other newspapers in the capital have just seized upon my two speeches... Emile Deschamps from St-Amand, known as Emile Deschamps (1791/1871), will found La Muse Française with Victor Hugo, Vigny, Nodier, etc...

He will be one of the 99 poets contributing to the Parnasse Contemporain. Isidore Séverin Taylor (1789/1879), a precursor of the romantic movement, created mutual aid associations for artists in the 1840s.
