Signed autograph letter addressed to journalist Muriel Ciolkowska, active in Paris, English correspondent for British newspapers and author of a book on Rodin. He agrees to a meeting and asks if Muriel Ciolkowska's husband can return to him "the few old books that [he] lent him regarding the Balance of M de Piles, painter to the King, etc." He mentions a manuscript that her husband advised him to publish.

The Balance of Painters, a notation on the merit of painters, is part of the Cours De Peinture par principes by Roger de Piles (1708). Largely overlooked, André Jolly, a lover of Brittany, was the subject of a retrospective in 2005 at the Pont-Aven museum.
