It is always with interest that I see you called to some new functions, convinced that you will bring to it the justice and kindness that you have already given me by having me recover at the opera the entries that had been withdrawn from me without any reasons and I renew my thanks to you. In 1814 the administration of feydeau, I do not know why, removed my author entries. This is a double ingratitude because I had several times the opportunity to render him quite important services & his secretary, then m., had expressed to me the gratitude by confirming my entries without limiting them any term. I had the right to complain, I continued to be useful to him when authors who honor me with some confidence, invited me to rehearsals, or to the staging of their works, and wanted to rely on my advice.

Again this year, the administration called me on its committee several times for the revision of some of the documents received or its former repertoire and I believe I have fulfilled its intentions. I thought that, by herself, she would give me my entrances, which I only deserved in this way; she judged otherwise in the newly established order of things. I have the honour, sir, to address my complaint to you. I am confident that you will welcome it from the moment you believe you can reconcile justice with the desire to make it generally acceptable to recognize you.
