Jean Baptiste alphonse karr, born in Paris on 24 November 1808 and died in Saint-Raphaël on 30 September 1890, is a French novelist and journalist. He is the son of the French composer Henri karr and the uncle of the Spanish feminist writer Carme karr and the French writer Violet Bouyer-karr.
